Painted Lady

Prices by-the-dozen & (by-the-butterfly)

Painted Lady butterflies are nearly identical to Monarch butterflies, with a wingspan of ~2 1/2 inches. They fly fast and flutter their wings, similar to Humming Birds. They are attracted to a wider varierty of host plants than the Monarchs, thus these beautiful butterflies will naturally linger around the release area!

The minimum temperature for release on a bright sunny day is 60F.

Monarch butterflies, with their bright gold and orange colors, will make an impressive display during your butterfly release. Monarch butterflies have a wingspan of ~3-4 inchs, and fly gracefully. The minimum temperature for release on a bright sunny day is 55F. These butterflies are well suited for cooler weather forecasts and will even fly in a slight rain!
Due to USDA regulations, Monarchs cannot be shipped to AK, AZ, CA, Western CO, ID, MT, NY, NV, Western NM, OR, UT and WA.

Monarch only Mass Butterfly Release Box

Butterfly Release for weddings, Butterfly Releases for funerals and special occasions. Butterfly releases, wedding butterfly release, funeral butterflies for release, live butterfly releases, butterfly releases for weddings, butterfly releases for funerals, release live butterflies for your special wedding or funeral occasion.

The butterflies will be shipped to you ready-to-release. They are packed laying flat in the mesh release cage, with an accordion-style ribbon gently keeping them in place. When you are ready to release, remove the lid from the mesh box, and pull out the ribbon.

Each accordion mass release box can accommodate up to 30 butterflies for release.

The first box is included with every mass release shipment (limit 1 complimentary box per shipment) and does not need to be added to your cart.

Painted Lady only Mass Butterfly Release Box

The butterflies will arrive loose within the Mass Release box. When you are ready to release the butterflies, take the lid off the top of the box and the butterflies will fly out.

Release box size will vary to accomodate up to 60 butterflies for release.

Premium (Painted Lady only) Mass Butterfly Release Box

Butterfly Release for weddings, Butterfly Releases for funerals and special occasions. Our Premium Painted Lady Mass Release Box is recommended for orders of 6-8 dozen Painted Lady butterflies (100 butterfly maximum). This elegant box features butterfly shaped windows on each side for your viewing pleasure prior to the release.

Note: Do not select if ordering the Mixed Butterflies, when one type of butterfly will be an Individual Release and the other type a Mass Butterfly Release.

Shipping and Handling

Wednesday-Saturday Releases: $49.00 for Shipping (Priority Overnight via FedEx)
Orders of 4 dozen butterflies or more: $20.00 added to Shipping
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday Events: $15.00 added to Shipping

Please note that Delivery is not available on Sunday

Important Notice for Holidays and Saturday Deliveries

Saturday delivery may not be available to remote locations. In the event Saturday delivery is not available, we will deliver your package on Friday. The butterflies will be safe and we do Guarantee Alive Butterflies at the time of the butterfly release in accordance with our Terms of Sale. We will notify you in advance if Saturday delivery is not available. FedEx and other carriers do not deliver or pickup packages on Sundays or national holidays, including but not limited to July 4th, Memorial Day, Christmas and New Years Eve. We will contact you ahead of time to make shipping arrangements.

When will the butterflies be delivered?

Wednesday-Sunday Releases: Orders are scheduled to arrive the day before your release. For example, an order scheduled for a Saturday release will be shipped out Thursday for a Friday delivery.

Monday Releases: Orders are scheduled to arrive on Saturday.

Tuesday Releases: Orders are sheduled to arrive Saturday. Tuesday morning delivery may be available for an additional charge from FedEx.
All orders are shipped Priority Overnight Express via FedEx. Packages are typically delivered between 10:00am and 2:00 pm local time. In some areas it may be as late as 4:30. You will receive automatic tracking info from the carrier the day prior to delivery that will provide more accurate tracking and delivery information. Someone MUST be at the ship to destination to receive the order. Please read our Frequently Asked Questions for additional information.

*Butterfly release orders must be placed by April 19th, 2013. This offer will not be combined with any other offer or promotions and can be discontinued at any time without notice. Butterfly Releases by S reserves the right to cancel or refuse any butterfly release order. Prices are subject to change without notice. All discounts will be applied to the butterfly portion of the order only. Discounted prices will automatically be applied during checkout.
